From the Neumos web site, "Irukandji Physics of Fusion is a powerful eight-piece hip-hop fusion band from Seattle, Washington. Known for their intensity on stage and blissful blend of sounds, they offer a show as vivacious and unique as the city itself. Irukandji’s most recent studio recording, the eight song LP, “Awakening,” released in June 2012, has been met with acclaim from many prominent local critics, such as the Stranger and KEXP. To add to their trophy-case of accomplishments, Irukandji: Physics of Fusion has performed at some of the biggest venues and festivals around Seattle: Neumo’s, The Crocodile, The Triple Door and HempFest 2012 to name a few. They have also humbly shared the stage with some of Seattle’s foremost up-and-coming musical acts such as the Staxx Brothers and the Dyme Def crew as well as national and international acts like Nappy Roots from Georgia, and Sola Rosa from New Zealand. Drawing their inspirations from all types of music, from rock to hip-hop, reggae to disco, Irukandji: Physics of Fusion will provide anyone in the crowd with something to move their body to. From MC Profit-sea’s soapbox, telling the world what it is, to Phil Pilon’s lightning-strike guitar licks, Trevor Ridge’s riot-inspiring beats or Alisha Blake’s voice like a faith-healer curing you of your woes, anyone can find their spot on the starting line and take the musical journey through about every aspect and emotion of the human experience. Named for the jellyfish found on the Great Barrier Reef, Irukandji: Physics of Fusion hopes to get into your blood, your system, your soul and rock you to ecstasy. Please join them on their way through this musical labyrinth and have a drink with them afterward to celebrate the journey."
