The Ballard branch is one of the most heavily used libraries in the city and was recently refurbished to give it a nice fresh carpet and new tables with better seating. Two interesting things about the building are that it features a 'green roof' planted with over 18,000 low-water-use plants, and there's a periscope inside the branch that lets you view both the roof and the surrounding neighborhood. Wow!
