From the Town Hall Seattle web site, "In this collaborative theatrical presentation Mark Z. Danielewski, best-selling author of the mind-bending House of Leaves, conducts a live performance adaptation of his newest novella, The Fifty Year Sword. In the “adult ghost story,” five orphans gather late one Halloween to hear a story about a quest for a terrible weapon; before them lies a black box with five latches. As the owner of the box settles into a curious tale, the children grow more captivated—and we grow more afraid … especially as the clocks approach midnight. Performed by Seattle Radio Theatre, with the visionary Christopher O’Riley on piano, expect plenty of spooky music and master storytelling. KUOW 94.9 FM broadcasts the performance live beginning at 7 p.m. Presented as part of the Town Hall Arts and Culture series, with Elliott Bay Book Company."
